MISSION:
The Galleries program of Ringling Higher of Art and Pattern includes exhibitions and activities that gloat the work and production of students, faculty and alumni. Our six on-campus galleries also host i person, group and thematic exhibitions that include locally, nationally and internationally known individuals. Yous will e'er find an heady new exhibition, artist talk, lecture, or effect to attend. Whether y'all're an aspiring artist or someone who is curious about new forms of creative expression, we welcome y'all to expand your perspective. Discover awe-inspiring work and thought-provoking insights from the art world.
Ringling College Galleries are gratuitous and open to the public. The Galleries on the campus of Ringling College of Art & Design provide a calendar of activities that supports the academic mission and curriculum of Ringling College.

2020-2021 EXHIBITION SEASON Statement:
Art in Activeness: Visionaries and Voices
Equally an Art and Pattern College, Ringling is focused on instruction. Whether it's a student or fine art enthusiast, its galleries afford the visitor the nearly direct appointment with fine art and ideas. The artistic vision for this year'due south plan of exhibitions and events is not just to educate our visitors about the data emerging from the artwork and the facts related to it, just also provide cultural programs and exhibitions within the Galleries that volition plant itself equally a place to assemble and share homo experiences.
Art exhibitions are a launching point to present and discuss matters with which communities wrestle with, by which they are inspired by, or simply enjoy. Understanding how others think, learning how to listen, and creating a space for empathy, energized by the power of art, are some of the greatest opportunities we can offer our visitors.
Art in Action: Visionaries and Voices will go beyond the walls of our buildings. This exhibition season will institute lines of dialogue with our communities, deepening our relationships with them and generating authentic bonds, as we serve them with programs that resonate with their interests while maintaining a museum-quality product. The result is an environment of trust and unity in which our club and campus community can thrive. Our Galleries and related happenings are places where we connect our past and present, build trust, inspire and envision a hopeful future.

Lois + David Stulberg Gallery
The Lois and David Stulberg Gallery is Ringling College'south premier on-campus exhibition infinite in the center of campus (#2 on our campus map) in the Richard and Barbara Basch Visual Arts Center. The gallery presents lively, rotating displays of contemporary painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and experimental work by student, faculty, emerging and established artists.
Patricia Thompson Alumni + Skylight Galleries
Patricia Thompson Alumni + Skylight Galleries features rotating exhibitions past Ringling College Alumni from all majors on the kickoff flooring of the intimate and historic on-campus Keating Center.
Richard + Barbara Basch Gallery
The Richard + Barbara Basch Gallery was established as a premier location for the exhibition of student, faculty, emerging, and established artists. Located on the bottom floor of the Larry R. Thompson Bookish Center (#1 on our campus map), the gallery features 1200 sqft of exhibition space with an adjoining Harold + Ronald Kendall Atrium for hosting creative person receptions and other events including the popAlmanac Richard and Barbara Basch Glass Exhibition.
Willis Smith Construction Inc. Gallery
As the second largest gallery located on the south side of campus, The Willis Smith Construction Inc. Gallery hosts rotating group and solo exhibitions showcasing diverse mediums and styles from gimmicky and modern to traditional work by established artists, emerging artists, students, and kinesthesia. This gallery is located on the bottom floor of the Larry R. Thompson Academic Eye and is #five on our campus map.
Project Space 340 (PS340)
Projection Space 340, Ringling College's newest gallery is conveniently located in the historic Rosemary District in the middle of downtown Sarasota and features exhibitions and events by Ringling College students, alumni, kinesthesia, and visiting artists. Abbreviated as PS340, this off-campus gallery serves as a catalyst for expansive and sustained interactions; where ideas are germinated and dialogue is shared with a diverse set of local communities. PS340 exhibitions will run concurrently with the regular Ringling College Galleries and Exhibition's flavor, with a variety of opening receptions and programming. Featuring original paintings and drawings by renowned illustrator and long-time Ringling College Faculty member, Regan Dunnick (Class of 1976). The Patricia Thompson Gallery features rotating exhibitions by Ringling Higher Alumni from all majors on the first floor of the historic Keating Center.
BIO: Regan Dunnick is an internationally known illustrator. He has won numerous awards and his works are in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress. He has been selected to such major exhibitions as the Un Environmental Show, The New Pop Show — which toured Europe and chronicled innovators, American Analogy, and The Hiroshima Memorial Design Show (Hiroshima, Japan).

A truly compelling narrative has transformative ability. As stories get alive and engage they teach us near our communities, our histories and ourselves. Ringgold + Robinson: Storytellers, is a two-creative person exhibition featuring a mini survey of mixed media artworks past legendary African American female person artists Faith Ringgold and Aminah Robinson. This exhibition will exist on view (in-person and online) from January eleven – February 12, 2022 in the Lois and David Stulberg Gallery located on the Ringling Higher of Fine art and Blueprint campus.

Virtually THE ARTISTS:
Organized religion Ringgold(1930-)
Storytelling is at the center of Faith Ringgold'south exercise. For more than 50 years, she's been creating, writing, and performing art that documents the American narrative. She's explored segregation and the Civil Rights Movement, considered black pride and the politics of pare colour, and reflected on her personal experiences—sharing how it felt to be a black woman in the 1960s and the decades hence. In recognition of her contributions as an creative person and activist, Ringgold has received countless honors, including a National Endowment for the Arts Accolade, a Guggenheim Fellowship for Painting, and an NAACP Image Award. Her work continues to be exhibited in major museums around the earth.
Aminah Robinson(1940-2015)
For more sixty years, Aminah Robinson created art inspired past the African concept of Sankofa: understanding the past in guild to get forwards. An artist, instructor, storyteller, messenger, and historian, her work reflects the drawing, papermaking, and needlework traditions that she learned from her parents and the training she received in art schoolhouse. Aminah created sculpture, large complex work she called RagGonNons, rag paintings, paintings on cloth, drawings, and books about her family and community, African American history, her travels, and the stories she was told by her elders. Her goal was to inspire others to research and document the history of their families and communities for the next generation.

Now in its 12th year, the Ringling College glass sculpture exhibition from the Richard and Barbara Basch Collection presents A Few of Our Favorite Things. This exhibition features some of the virtually exceptional examples of fine art glass and brilliant i-of-a-kind commissions by the greatest masters of the medium from around the world. Information technology highlights the Basch Collection of more 300 works of art glass by iconic artists, including: Giampaolo Amoruso, Martin Blank, Latchezar Boyadjiev, Peter Bremers, Lucio Bubacco, Dale Chihuly, Laura di Santillana, Laura Donefer, Robin Grebe, Colin Heaney, Shin-ichi Higuchi, Richard Royal, Lino Tagliapietra, and Bertil Vallien.
